What owning the same car for 10 years has taught me about buying and maintaining a used car.
My own car and what I’ve learnt
So in 2016 I bought a Audi a3 2.0TDI, and 10 years later I’ve still got the same car! This just proves that a well maintained car always wins, I give it a full service every 10,000 and have always had regular checks over to make sure its in good condition, not waiting for noises and rattles. The 2.0 TDI engine has been brilliant for me. It has plenty of power, returns great fuel economy and parts are readily available because the same engine was fitted to so many Volkswagen Group vehicles.
That being said, they're not perfect, like any car its had its problems, ive put two cambelts on, clutch and flywheel, thermostat and then just wear and tear items, in the grand scheme of things over 10 years this isn’t a lot at all.
This isn’t me saying go buy an Audi its just me saying that if you take care of the car you have it’ll look after you in the long run, and also save you a lot of money!
